That You Might Believe

Belief is foundational to the Christian, belief in Jesus
Christ as the resurrected Lord. When Jesus came to the disciples after he was
resurrected, Thomas wasn’t there and didn’t believe at the word of the others.
However, Jesus came and gave Thomas exactly what he’d asked for in order to
believe. Jesus has done everything that is necessary for us believe. Many seek
evidence and The Bible provides all that we need in eyewitness accounts from
credible witnesses. Believe and be saved.

A Right Standing Before God

How good is good enough? As a Christian we should strive toward being better each day. One of the greatest dangers for a believer is complacency. Sometimes the Lord will have to tell us things we don't want to hear in order to improve; it may be that He reveals to us how selfish we are or how covetous we are. Whatever the case may be, it is better to be corrected by truth than to be cradled by a lie that separates us from God. Therefore, work toward a right standing before God.

The Resurrection and the Life

Jesus is the resurrection and the life. In John Chapter 11 Jesus is asked to come heal Lazarus but Jesus didn't go and heal him. He waited and showed up late. Or did He? Jesus came at the appointed time that He would demonstrate His power over death. If Jesus does not have power over death then he is not risen and we will not rise at the last day. Do you believe that he is risen? I assure you that He IS risen and at the right hand of the Father.

What's it Going to Cost?

Idolatry is still common in our world today. It is not as
obvious as it has been in the past, but it is more common now than it was in
Old Testament times. The ability to discern right from wrong is of utmost
importance in a time when things may seem right but when investigated the thing
is not only wrong but completely sinful and a separation from God. In studying
the word of God we will be able to have guidance to avoid these pitfalls and
spare ourselves an eternity in Hell. There may be things that seem right to us but as time goes by they will cost more than we want to pay. 

Rejoice

How often do we go to the store and remember to thank God for being able to buy the food there? How often do we thank God that there isn't a famine in the land? We must remember that we aren't able to sustain ourselves. In remembering to whom we should be thankful, we will rejoice in the Lord God and His blessings. If we concentrate on the things we don't have we may forget about the many blessings we do have.
