Trusting in the blood of Jesus is of vital importance to becoming and staying a Christian. Just as when there is a physical weakness when your blood count is low so is it also when the blood of Jesus is diminished in your life. It is of vital importance that a Christian not only regard the blood but to depend upon the blood of Jesus. The blood should be applied and reapplied as needed by way of repentance. It is always important to forgive but not always easy. In this sermon we explore the cause and cure of unforgiveness. The root cause of unforgiveness is a lack of love for another. We only find it easy to forgive people that we love. Jesus instructed to forgive as God forgives us. If we remember how much we've been forgiven it will help us to be more forgiving of those that wrong us.

Sin, an inside job: the things that cause us to stray from the will of God are not cast upon us from the outside. The problem of sin is self originating in each of us. Only through due diligence can a person avoid sin. In this sermon a list, from the words of Jesus, is referenced of the things that defiles a person. Jesus prefaces this list by stating that the things that come from a person are what defiles them. Spiritual purity begins by acknowledging and examining what is in your heart. They shall obtain mercy: we often seek mercy which is sometimes necessary. It is important that if you desire mercy that you must be merciful. In doing so, you might not always receive mercy from men but God's mercy will be upon you. Mercy keeps us from getting what we deserve, but how often do you withhold wrath from those who have wronged you? A desire for mercy should start with others "Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy" Matthew 5:7. May God bless you and be merciful to you, as you are to others.
